Sunburst Sheds Old Brand & Starts Shredding with Something New

And that’s a wrap! Almost. We’re talking about winter (we know, we know, we’ll believe it when we see it, too) and Sunburst Ski Hill’s 2022 season. Was it a success?

You bet!

Sunburst Ski Hill is a chart-topping destination for avid skiers and snowboarders, as well as home to the world’s largest tubing hill. Think Wisconsin Dells, but instead of careening down a water slide, you’re speeding down a snow-covered slope. For over half a century, this ski hill in Kewaskum, Wisconsin has been sharing the thrill of the hill with people from all over the world, with cutting-edge terrain parks, sick slopes, and some of the best darn snow you can make. And after all those years, it was time for a brand…lift.

Sunburst partnered with Savage in September 2021 for messaging that would send them off to a successful ski season, and an identity that would better represent what they were all about—having fun and making memories. For this new era of Sunburst, we made sure to honor their nostalgic feel and family-oriented values. Using retro verbiage and killer designs, we encouraged Sunburst’s audience to travel back in time and reminisce about the days before cell phones and fancy technology, compelling them, instead, to jet on down to their favorite home hill for a day of old school fun in the snow.

Savage created a new logo, and a finally on-brand voice. “Sunburst’s existing brand and logo was no longer an authentic representation of who we are today,” stated Sunburst’s Ski School Administrator Jon Delray. “Savage made our brand feel more real, more genuine.”

In addition to a new brand, Savage and Sunburst partnered on carefully timed and thought-out campaigns. The results? Sunburst’s ecommerce sales tripled since last year! But don’t just take our word for it. “This was the best February I’ve ever seen!” stated Sunburst’s owner, Rob Friedl.

Sunburst is ready for another season! Are you?
