Here at Savage, we take pride in recognizing the brave work each and every one of our team members accomplishes. We’ve created a tradition of bonding over team breakfast on the first Wednesday of every month. Although the iced lattes, breakfast potatoes, and avocado toast are top contenders, it’s safe to say that sharing our “shoutout cards” is the highlight of these team breakfasts.
With a team this awesome, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day to-dos and take one another for granted. Our shoutout cards allow us to take a step back, reflect on our incredible work, and truly appreciate one another for continuously going above and beyond in the name of brave creativity.
This is how the shoutout cards work: We each write a handwritten note to whichever team member blew our socks away—whether that was launching a custom-built website, revealing a shiny new logo, rocking a video shoot, or simply just having a positive attitude around the office. Because there’s never a dull moment at Savage, most of us tend to write a few cards. Sharing these out loud at breakfast allows us all to reflect on our hard work and cheers our caffeinated beverages to another successful month..
Our collection of shoutouts started off as a few cards pinned to our office’s bulletin board. With time, it has grown to become its very own wall (and as a result, some of the coolest office decor). This month, our shoutouts ranged from recognizing a three-week stretch of video and photo shooting in Stallis, to applauding someone’s awesome appearance as a Sasquatch (definitely not South Milwaukee Sam…), to cleaning the office coffee machine, and everything else in between.
These shoutouts are much more than just a card. They’re a representation of everything we stand for: bravery, positivity, creativity. Coming together as a unified team to celebrate our wins is what it’s all about. Reflecting on the work we’ve done, the struggles we’ve overcome, and the courageous creativity we produce is the most rewarding part of what we do.
So… shoutout to the shoutout wall—for becoming an ongoing reminder of our core values here at Savage.
